Critical Consumer Advisory: Real Estate Escrow Wire Fraud Protection
Habitat Mortgage LLC will never alter wire transfer routing instructions or banking disbursement credentials via unencrypted email, direct SMS text, or social messaging platforms during any stage of your residential financing transaction.
Mandatory Verbal Authentication Protocol
Criminal syndicates actively target residential closing escrows through deceptive cyber impersonation and compromised external communications. Before initiating any outgoing wire transfer from your depository institution, you are legally instructed to:
- Independently Verify Instructions: Contact your escrow settlement officer or closing title attorney directly via a trusted telephone number verified independently (never use numbers embedded in unverified emails).
- Confirm Complete Routing Matrix: Verbally audit the receiving beneficiary name, bank address, routing ABA transit number, and account suffix prior to authorization.
- Immediate Fraud Escalation: If you receive an urgent notice asserting changes to wiring routing instructions, report it immediately to the Habitat Mortgage Private Desk at (833) 666-6062 and the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3.gov).
